For Pittsburgh couples scheduled to tie the knot this spring (and the wedding professionals committed to helping them), the panic is now in full effect as venues, churches, and small businesses throughout the region temporarily shut their doors in response to social distancing recommendations and closures, forcing couples to scramble, reschedule, and regroup.
Times are uncertain. I know you are scared, I sympathize with your frustrations, and I know you are wondering how this impacts your wedding flowers. Please understand these are perfectly normal reactions to conditions and restrictions that seem anything but.
How does postponing your wedding in response to the COVID-19 pandemic affect your flowers? In short, in doesn’t…at least not if you’re booked with All Occasion Silk Creations. To my current couples as well as those unsure where to turn in response to the smaller floral shops who have closed their doors for the foreseeable future, here are the answers to the questions and concerns I know you have.
Q: I don’t think my wedding will be postponed; will I still be able to get my wedding flowers for my spring wedding?
A: Absolutely! Although heeding the social distancing recommendations at this time, I am still hard at work behind-the-scenes to ensure your wedding flowers are finished for the timeline set for your original contracted date.
Q: What if we have to postpone our wedding?! What happens to our flowers and our retainers/any payments made?
A: One of the biggest benefits of artificial flowers is that they are ready well in advance of your wedding, typically weeks to a month in advance. In fact, many of our early spring brides already have their flowers, eliminating any additional stress, which we all know nobody needs at this time!
If you have elected to postpone your wedding, please contact me. Bumping back your walk down the aisle does not affect your non-refundable retainer and any payments made up to this point.
Q: What can I do to keep my flowers looking good until our new wedding date rolls around?
A: As I recommend to all couples when they take their flowers home, be sure to keep your flowers clean, in their packaging, and out of extreme temperatures. Your flowers will come neatly packaged, labeled, and with care instructions so they are ready to grab and go come your big day.
Q: What happens if we can’t come in for a consultation?
